With this new entrance into Bitcoin’s second-layer scaling protocol, TBD will now have a major presence in Lightning infrastructure.
Providing Liquidity And Connections To Node Operators
c= provides node operators — whether bitcoin wallets, individuals or other entities that want to use the lightning network — with valuable connections and liquidity so that their transactions are successful. In addition, it collaborates with developers in order to provide seamless routing and liquidity through APIs and services.
Square Rebranded To Block
In 2022 when Square was renamed to Block, TBD stated its mission was „to bridge the old to the new“ by building an open-source company focused on open protocols and standards that all participants could benefit from. Since then they have been exploring various capabilities such as decentralized identifiers (DID) decentralized web nodes etcetera.
Excited To Grow The Network With BTC From Treasury
Nick Slaney who is Lead at c= said: “We’re excited to use the bitcoin in our treasury to grow the Lightening Network and our company in a mutually beneficial way” He further added that although lightning network is still growing – transactions often fail due lack of liquidity – which is why C= exists – so customers don’t have rely on an intermediary for custody of their bitcoins for lightning payment processing needs .
